Following along with Flickr.

The winds are ripping out on the water again today so I’ve taken the time to look back over the last few weeks.

There is a link on the right side of the page under Flickr Map, that reads Follow Brett.   This link takes you to a world map that is tied to my photo sharing on Flickr.  If you zoom in on the Ohio valley you can navigate back upstream to Pittsburgh–using photos I’ve posted to tour the river front.  Through the map you can see winter turn to spring, the river rise, and start to gleam the river’s dual personality.  Around some bends the river is wild and lush.  Around others harnessed and abused.

About banksofthebasin

Brett grew up in South Jersey, moved to the coast of Maine to study human ecology, and then spent a year traveling on rivers around the world—from the frozen arctic to the mangroves of south Asia. Before setting out on Banks of the Basin he baked bread in Pittsburgh and kayaked the beautiful rivers of central Appalachia.
